Engine, Performance, and Transmission
The standard 3.6-liter V-6 285-hp from the previous-generation Wrangler makes its way under the hood of the new JW and can be combined with a manual gearbox or a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual gearbox.
A turbocharged four-cylinder engine is optional and twins up with an electric motor to deliver additional low-end torque. Wranglers are born off-road ready, so part-time four-wheel drive is regular across the range and is dominated by a lever on the center console.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
In this segment of gas guzzlers, the V-6–powered four-door Wrangler Sahara returned a 20-mpg result on a 200-mile highway fuel-economy route, three mpg fewer than its EPA rating for highway fuel economy.
The turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid model performed much better, delivering 26 mpg—2 mpg, which was little more than expected.
Interior, Cargo, and Comfort
The Wrangler provides a seamless blend of vintage and new Jeep elements. A commanding view of the trail – or road makes for easy maneuverability. Just push the top and remove the doors.
Infotainment and Connectivity
A Wrangler can be equipped with only the essentials or can be loaded up with modern infotainment goodies and only the essentials. Its infotainment interface—called Uconnect—is quick to respond, simple to use, and can be viewed on a touchscreen in three various sizes. Android Auto And Apple Car Play are both optional, as is navigation and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system.
Driver-Assistance and Safety Features
Jeep offers only a limited of optional driver-assistance elements. Key safety features include:

Warranty and Maintenance
